Sub-Saharan Africa has the world's largest need for clean, accessible water.

Every 15 seconds, an African child dies from water borne disease.

It is common for African women and children to walk 3+ hours per day carrying water from the nearest source to their homes; this water is often unsafe.  Carrying water prevents women and children from attending school, perpetuating the poverty cycle.

There can be no quality of life without clean water-- no jobs, no education, no food; NOTHING happens without clean water.

Funds raised through WaterSunday benefit WorldServe International , a proven provider of water solutions to the driest areas in East Africa, providing over 200 water projects annually.

Using WorldServe's drilling rigs and utilizing national workers, WaterSunday drills deep water wells and provides the building blocks for lifting communities and families above the poverty cycle.

Clean water is the important first step,  but it is not a complete solution. WaterSunday has a proven, comprehensive strategy that lifts needy communities in East Africa:

1. Water and Sanitation

2. Healthcare

3. Economic Empowerment

4. Education

5. Electrical Power

6. Agriculture Development

7. Communications and Culture

8. Church Planting

WaterSunday is an awareness/involvement event that your organization can host.  WaterSunday events help others learn about the need and gives them an opportunity to get involved personally.  Any organization can host a Water Sunday event, including churches, businesses and social groups.
